CEO

Meet Dr. Greg Keelen

Dr. Keelen founded LVL1 with a vision to put patient care first and reposition physicians as leaders in direct patient care.  Dr. Keelen is the only CEO who has worked in almost every hospital department as an employee.  Starting right out of high school, Dr. Keelen worked as a phlebotomist then transitioned into an ER technician.  His passion for ER and critical care inspired him to get a nursing degree where he worked as both an ER and ICU nurse.  During his tenue as a nurse, he received numerous accolades including hospital employee of the year and value management team award.

Despite his nursing success, Dr. Keelen’s passion for medicine would drive him to attend medical school in Kansas City. After graduating medical school, he attended UT Southwestern-Parkland ER residency program. He began his physician career at Dallas Methodist Health System where he served as the Director of Coding and Software Development, Medical Director.  When the Department was taken over by a private equity backed ER group, Dr. Keelen left for Texoma Emergency Physicians where he was the Director of Education and IT services.

In 2019, the private group TEP was purchased by the private equity backed American Physician Partners, and he refused sacrifice his conviction that private equity firms are bad for providers and patient care.  He left TEP and flew back and forth from Texas to work for a private group at Midwest Emergency Department in Nebraska.  In the two years working in Nebraska, his leadership duties included Medical Director and serving on the executive medical committee.

In 2022, he finally realized his vision by creating a true private physician owned group without corporate influences.   LV1 group is an extension of Dr. Keelens passion for medicine that serves patients first and treats everyone in the healthcare delivery model as ONE family.
